One of my dark secrets in my station as Audio Elitist, Vanessa Carlton has always been one of my weaknesses. This song in particular grabs you from the very first line; it's the young nerd's dream come true. A pixie like voice whispers over the light tap of drumstick to cymbal and a mellow bass. It's a song of devotion, of love untainted and pure; a rare occurrence in today's age of free love and the like. It's nothing revolutionary and the song itself is kind of cheesy, sure, but maybe cheesy is good sometimes; not every song has to change your life, not every song has to speak a message. Some songs, like this one, just feel good; a warm embrace, a glass of milk and some oreos, Sunday morning watching the sunrise.
