'Round Here -- Counting Crows

I ... wow. I just can't get over Counting Crows lately. Of all their songs I've been absolutely hooked upon, there's no other tune I've yet to hear that has better songwriting than 'Round Here does. Like a good lot of songs by the Counting Crows that I've heard, I always sense a slice of Americana beneath the nostalgic lines rich with personal experience and reverence. Just this weekend past, I brought this song along with me to my cottage and listened intently while I watched the trees and forest out the windows. I couldn't get it out of my head the whole time I was there, and found myself playing and singing along outside in the early morning while the river was as placid as a sheet of glass. Ahem. Pardon me.

I won't bother posting the lyrics to this song in the post -- I encourage you to hear the song yourself, for lyrics, like words, are vastly powerful when the driving force of musical composition and context is placed behind them. If spoken without the proper context -- not what you say, but how you say it -- words don't mean a thing. Neither do lyrics.
